3 Types of Cooling Systems
You have three main options to consider when it comes to your cooling comfort.
- Central air conditioning: This system pulls heat from inside the home and exhausts it to the outside, which lowers the temperature indoors.
- Heat pump: A heat pump pulls double-duty as cooling and heating source. It operates just like an air condition in the summer, but in the winter, it can extract thermal energy from the air outside to bring warmth inside.
- Mini-split heat pump: A mini-split system provides more targeted comfort. Rather than heat or cool the entire home by deliver air through ducts, this system controls the temperature where the indoor air handlers are installed. Several air handlers can be connected to a single compressor unit outside, allowing you to create climate zones in your Orlando home.
